Lokalbot is built with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains our commitment to protecting your privacy and the local-first approach we take with your data.
All data captured by Lokalbot (window titles, app names, idle time, summaries) is processed and stored exclusively on your local device. Nothing leaves your computer.
All this data remains on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
When you choose to use LLM features for generating summaries, you control which service to use and what data to send. Lokalbot provides options for local LLMs or external services, but you decide what information to share.
Lokalbot requires macOS accessibility permissions to read window titles and detect active applications. These permissions are used solely for the app's core functionality and no data is transmitted outside your device.
All data is stored in local files on your Mac. You have complete control over this data and can delete it at any time by removing the application or its data files.
Lokalbot is open source, meaning you can inspect the code to verify our privacy claims. The source code is available on GitHub for complete transparency.
Any changes to this privacy policy will be reflected in the app and on our website. Given our local-first approach, changes are unlikely to affect data handling practices.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please reach out through our GitHub repository.
